2018 Hyundai Accent: A Bestseller for Good Reason
May 15 2018, Sudbury Hyundai
With the exceptional quality of new vehicles regularly introduced on the market, it’s not easy for a car manufacturer to stand out.
That's why it's so impressive to note that the Hyundai Accent has remained on top of the charts in the subcompact car segment since 2009. Although several new models have emerged since then, the Accent continues to lead. And now, with the all-new 2018 Hyundai Accent, consumers will find more of what they already loved about the Accent.
The 2018 Hyundai Accent Is Improved in Every Way
For starters, the new Hyundai Accent is more spacious and versatile than the model it replaces. There’s more cargo space, with the hatchback version capable of accommodating 616 litres in its trunk, which is better than any other model in the same class.
The chassis has also been significantly improved and now uses a higher percentage of high-strength steel. It’s therefore 32% more rigid compared to the previous Accent. This results in a more stable and dynamic road handling, as well as improved safety and comfort.
The 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine is back, but now develops 132 horsepower and 119 lb-ft of torque, which is an improvement of 4.6%. Despite the increased power, the new 2018 Hyundai Accent is more fuel-efficient by about 7%. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while a six-speed automatic is optional.
